The land upon which the Holly Springs Subdivision was developed was originally the Carl Ray Landscape and Nursery facility. In 1984, the 77 acres were subdivided and sold as lots for single family homes.
The first homes built were occupied in 1985. The name Holly Springs was derived from the American Holly tree and the fresh water springs within our subdivision. A spring still flows near the entrance off Whipps Mill Road behind the gazebo. The streets were named after the variety of trees that grew at the nursery.
The subdivision property was truly unique in that many of the nursery stock trees were left in place and not destroyed during the construction of the streets and utilities. The subdivision has matured and has become more attractive with the growth of the landscaping originally planted by the residents.
Each deed for the properties in the subdivision has incorporated the Declaration of Covenants and Restrictions (DC&R). The DC&R were initially imposed by the developer to help maintain the attractiveness of the subdivision and protect property values. A copy of the current DC&R is included in this website. The responsibility for enforcing the DC&R now rests with the Holly Springs Homeowners Association (HOA) which is managed by the elected Board of Directors.
The HOA Board and its committees are made up of volunteers. We welcome your participation, suggestions and help to make our subdivision an even better community.
